Doug Hertz, Principal:
Doug is responsible for technology and design for Sunrise. He is NABCEP Certified and is a member of the American Solar Energy Society and the New York Energy Industries Association. Doug spent 2 decades in lighting and electrical design for television, film and architecture before moving into solar. He frequently gives talks on solar energy to groups from the Westchester Building Inspectors to the American Solar Energy Society national conference. He graduated from Brown University and took his first alternative energy course back in the 70’s under the famed Barrett Hazeltine. He serves on the Hastings Green Code Committee, The Mt Kisco Planning Board, and is the chair of the Mount Kisco Energy Advisory Panel.
Eric Messer, Principal:
Eric is in charge of systems installation and construction for Sunrise. Eric brings two and a half decades of construction expertise as the owner of Sunrise Building and Remodeling. He sits on the Board of the Westchester Builders Institute where he has been a member since 1984. He is a trustee for the Westchester Home Builders Association and a member of the National Association of Remodelers Institute.
Michael Rice, Director of Sales
Mike is responsible for Sales and Operations for Sunrise Solar. With over twenty years of experience in operations and sales management, he has spent the past several years concentrating on alternative and renewable energy. He is a trained energy expert, with certifications from multiple agencies, including BPI, IGSHPA, APICS, and the EPA. A graduate of University of Hartford, he has a mechanical engineering degree and took his first energy training while in college.
